Introduction

Animation is a new Global Zone (GZ) 5 week/20 hour intensive English class that explores the relationship between animated film, pictures, and words.

The class will begin with guided practice for rhthym, intonation, and pronunciation in English. After students master guided speaking, we will get a little more creative with words and pictures using well known - and not so well known! - animated clips for modelling and content.

By the end of the course students will be ready to speak English more confidently and effectively in front of others. It is hoped that students will take their new found English skills from this class and use them to be successful contributors to our global society.

Required:
Students must be prepared to have a good time and to contribute to the class.
Students must bring a pencil/pen and an unlined notebook.

Assignment and Participation:
You will be expected to actively interact with classmates and the instructor, participate in group work, and practice speaking in front of an audience. The use of English is expected for the duration of the class  period.

Assessment:
There is no formal assessment for this class, however, instructor and peer feedback will reflect the success you have had in improving your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
